SQUARES - All Over

SQUAREPANTS,

SQUARE WATER,

SQUARE WATERMELONS,

SQUARE TOMATOES

WHY NOT SQUARE TREES?

and TREES GROWING CHAIRS?

OK, I admit, the trees and chairs are a put on. Cool, though! And a little scary!

  1. No GMO involved. The square fruit and trees are grown simply by putting a square mold around them when small, and they're restricted to the shape when they grow and fill it up. You can actually see it in the tree trunk, the growth rings are circular at first and then get gradually more squarish when it hits the borders.

Dunno about the chair, though, probably similar technique, or it's a photoshop.

  2. I understand Japan developed the squaring technique for produce to make them easier to ship and store.

The purpose of squaring the tree...all I can think of is cutting down on waste when making planks. Or maybe just because it's cool.

The chair, I think is a complete put on. I have been working in photoshop and now know better than to take a picture at face value. I guess that's part of the meaning of:

"Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see."

[The problem, though, is which half to believe. Oops! That's another topic and I'm off on another tangent.)
